What is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist?

A Canadian Certified Pedorthist is a healthcare professional trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and biomechanics. They specialize in the design, manufacture, fit, and modification of foot orthotics and footwear. Their expertise helps alleviate pain, correct abnormalities, and treat debilitating conditions of the lower limbs and feet that could limit mobility if left untreated. At Forbes Pharmacy, our Pedorthists work alongside other healthcare professionals to maintain your foot health and mobility.

Comprehensive Foot Assessments

Our Pedorthists conduct comprehensive foot assessments, which include a gait and biomechanical assessment of the lower limbs, a thorough medical history, an examination of your current footwear, range of motion tests, and video gait analysis. This detailed assessment allows us to understand your unique needs and design the most effective treatment plan for you.

Detailed Reporting

After each assessment, we provide a detailed report discussing the results and our recommendations. With your consent, we also send a report to your family doctor or the referring health professional to ensure a coordinated approach to your care.

Follow-up Appointments

We believe in the importance of follow-up care. Two weeks after you receive your new orthotics, we will call you to ensure a smooth transition. If necessary, we make minor adjustments to the orthotic at no additional charge. At Dynamic Footworks, we are committed to working with you to keep your feet pain-free and healthy for life.

Professional Shoe Fitting and Footwear Modifications

We focus on individual professional shoe fitting to meet the specific needs of all our clients. We offer a selection of diabetic and orthopedic footwear and a variety of widths for hard-to-fit feet. Additionally, we provide a variety of footwear modifications, including lifts and stretching for width, length, and deformities such as bunions.

Lower & Upper Limb Custom Bracing

Our in-house professionals are qualified to measure and fit a full line of lower and upper limb bracing and casting products. We carry DonJoy brand, Canada's leading provider of orthopedic devices used in rehabilitation, pain management, and physical therapy. Whether you need a custom-built knee brace for a sports injury or a wrist wrap for tendonitis, we have the products you need and the professionals to ensure you get the product that is right for you.
